DESCRIPTION: APW - Adams & Perry, mvt signed "Lancaster Watch, Penna," 20J, 19S, heavy 18K gold original drum style HC with attractive engine turning and engraving detail, rear including small lakeside scene, gold cuvette, white enamel SS canister style (snap on) dial, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, nickel damascene, s#2036. Gross weight of assembled watch 95.3 dwt (148.2 g). A rare high grade early watch. Based on observed examples it appears the total production of the Adams & Perry model movement was approximately 1000 watches and among this total, those having nickel damascene such as the present example are far scarcer than those with gilt finish. This example is notable also for the presence of its original gold case, as the majority of observed examples tend to be either recased or without case.
